How to Hit the Ball below or above Your Feet
You can hit it well on the driving range but might not get the good results on the golf course. That's because the golf course is not all flat.
So you need to understand how to hit it from uneven lies.
First, let's see how those uneven lies do to your shots.
1. Ball above your feet
From this lie, you swing will become flatter or more rounded. So you might want to expect the ball to curve from right to left.
2. Ball below your feet
If the ball is below your feet, the ball tends to curve from left to right.
How to Hit from These Lies
Instead of fighting against those lies, you should play with it.
1. Ball above your feet
Stand little taller than normal. Depending on the slope, you might have to grip down on the club a bit.
Aim little to the right of target because the ball tends to curve from right to left from this lie. But if you are slicer, the ball may not hook, so you may want to aim straight at the target.
2. Ball below your feet
Flex your knees more than normal. Also, you need to bend a little more. Take one more club because you won't hit it far from this lie.
Also, expect the ball to curve to the right.
So you need to aim the left of target.
If you usually draw or hook the ball, you may want to aim straight at the target.
